Nottingham Winter Wonderland

December is our favourite month of the year, as we can wrap up warm, visit Christmas markets and catch up with old friends. Everyone is full of Christmas cheer and there are so many events taking place. If you’re looking for things to do during the festive period and the run up to New Year, then check out our what’s on guide during December in Nottingham!

Nottingham Winter Wonderland

Get in the Christmas spirit by visiting Nottingham’s Olde English themed Christmas market where local traders and craftspeople will be selling quality Christmas gifts. If you’re yet to finish your Christmas shopping, fret not, as the market will be open until 8pm up until 23rd December for all the last minute shoppers! If shopping isn’t your thing, get your skates on at the ice rink, which is open until 4th January.

Snow White at Nottingham’s Theatre Royal

For many families, going to the theatre is a Christmas tradition. This year the Theatre Royal will be putting on the truly wicked pantomime, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The headline cast include famous actress Lesley Joseph and Eastenders heartthrob Sam Attwater. This spectacular new production of this classic story is magically brought to life with stunning sets, amazing costumes, an abundance of laughter and special effects. It’s set to be a sell out show, so buy your tickets now as the last performance is on the 11th January.

Fireworks at Nottingham Castle

Welcome in the New Year with friends and family with a free firework display at Nottingham Castle. There will be live music from the Fab Four and the Gorgeous Chans, street entertainers, plus bars and stalls serving food. Entry is free from 8pm and the event ends at 12.15am. Get down early as the capacity inside the castle grounds is limited and entry will be on a first come first served basis.
