What’s going on in Birmingham this Easter?

We know the feeling. It only seems like five minutes since the kids went back to school after half term, and now they are due to break up for Easter. But fear not! There are plenty of exciting things you can do to keep your little terror entertained this half term – so they behave practically angelic!

With Birmingham schools having now broken up for the Easter break, it can be a daunting prospect of how to keep the kids entertained for over two weeks. But how about embracing the Easter festivities with a cheeky trip to Cadbury World? With an action packed schedule of chocolatey filled fun for everyone, it could be the perfect excuse to let out your inner child and join the kids on their level.

If the chilly mornings have left you cautious of tackling outdoor activities, head on down to the Sealife Centre for an Ice Adventure! Opening just in time for Easter, this cool exhibition (excuse the pun) offers a unique opportunity to come face-to-face with a colony of Gentoo Penguins. Don’t think this will fill a day? Think again! You will have chance to see over 1000 creatures, ranging from sharks to turtles to seahorses and rays. With an interactive rockpool, a 4D cinema and an amazing 360-degree Ocean Tunnel, you won’t be short of attractions to keep you entertained.

If you want to make the most of the fresh air this Easter and fear your children may take a little convincing (we know how difficult it can be to drag them away from the game consoles, iPads and smartphones at times) then the Stoneleigh Abbey Easter egg hunt could be just the ticket. Taking place on Easter weekend (18 – 21 April) this free, fun filled activity will require initiative, agility and the ability to sniff out a sweet treat or two. Whilst the kids chase for clues, take time to absorb the gorgeous Georgian surroundings and maybe indulge in a cream tea in their Victorian tearoom (the children can have all the treats now, can they?).

If the Easter egg hunt reveals your child’s budding detective skills, don’t miss the chance to play secret agent at the Royal Airforce Museum this Easter. They can embrace the opportunity to hunt for clues amongst the aircrafts and exhibitions – and if they crack the codes, they can win a £20 gift voucher to spend in the gift shop.

With so much fun to be had in Birmingham this Easter, you’ll be wishing for an extra day to fit in all the festivities. If you already have exciting plans for you and the children, share them with us! We’d love to hear them.

Oh, and most importantly, have an eggtastic Easter, from all of us here at Centrick Property (don’t eat too much chocolate now!)
