The Birmingham German Market is back!

People enjoying Christmas market

The Glühwein, the carousel, the little wooden stalls. And the Bratwurst... oh, the Bratwurst. That's right, the world famous Birmingham German Market has arrived once again!

This will be the 14th year in a row that our wonderful city has hosted this market, and last year was the biggest ever, with nearly 5 million people visiting. Its organisers have described it as the biggest German market in the world outside Germany and Austria, and it is said to generate even more money than Berlin's own market (roughly £90million).

The scale of the Birmingham German Market is truly impressive. Over the 6 weeks almost 1,000 staff are employed, there are approximately 200 stalls, it covers an area of almost 30,000sq metres and it even has a mascot. Not heard of Chris Moose, the self-declared face and voice of the market? Follow his Twitter account here!

So are there any downsides at all to this great annual tradition? Well, it can be a little tricky to spot a toilet, although you can find a list of them on the Birmingham City Council website. Also it can take a while to get from one end of New Street to the other, no matter the time or day, so stay far away if you're rushing for a meeting. Other than that, it's all gut!

And yes, we can confirm that the Centrick team have already made their first visit. It almost certainly won't be our last visit, so if you spot any of our team members just come over and say 'Hallo'!
