Young property firm ready for the up turn

Three former West Midlands students are now managing a client property portfolio worth more than £200 million in less than five years.

Now the energetic trio - Carina Hill, Shand Bland and James Ackrill whose entrepreneur father, Rod Ackrill, was President of the Birmingham Chamber of Commerce, have moved their successful property empire, Centrick Property, into Commercial Street, Birmingham.

Since their humble beginnings in Warwickshire their business which concentrates on residential, commercial and mixed use estate management, residential sales and lettings and property maintenance have received major instructions on apartments and commercial buildings across five counties - Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Warwickshire, Oxfordshire and the West Midlands.

Director, Carina Hill said:"When we started Centrick in 2005 we had one simple goal - to deliver a better service - the three core strands of the business complement each other well and help us to deliver an accessible and more efficient service."

She added that the company's ARLA regulated lettings division and the company's location next to the Mail Box meant that "a fast through put of homes and apartments to let could be achieved."

Carina also revealed that 80 per cent of the company's sales instructions in 2009 had become agreed sales by the end of the year and a closer relationship with builders and developers was being pursued.

The company's dedicated maintenance service is also a big attraction to both its estate management clients as well as landlords and tenants, particularly when work is urgently required because of one mishap or another.

Carina added that the company now employed nearly 30 people and the knowledge they had gained across the West Midlands backed by client testimonials meant they were ideally poised to take full advantage of the upturn.

Her partners, James Ackrill who has a degree in Mechanical Civil Engineering specialises in the estate management side of the business and and Shane Bland who had success as a racing driver, is responsible for maintenance.

Carina explained "We intend to continue growing the business as well as branching into other areas as our stock in trade increases."
