Case Study – Broadway Residences, Birmingham City Centre

Broadway Residences was one of the first Build to Rent schemes developed and brought to the market, outside of London. Utilising an existing Birmingham landmark, developers Seven Capital and construction company Colmore Tang, refurbished the development from top to bottom, converting old office spaces into 214 luxury apartments. Designed from the outset as a Build to Rent scheme, the apartments themselves were designed to offer increased living space and equally sized bedrooms, incorporating built in wardrobes. Other added benefits for residents included superfast fibre broadband and TV lines, ready to be turned on the day tenants moved in, a revolutionary air control system, 24 hour concierge, a fully equipped residents only gym, on site dry cleaning and laundry services and an environmentally friendly car sharing scheme from Enterprise.

To top these additional benefits off, each apartment was provided fully furnished with bespoke and fashionable items by Loft Interiors. In our experience, furnished apartments not only are let more quickly but at a better price, as tenants prefer not having to worry about the initial cost of purchasing their own furniture and then moving it at the end of their tenancy. All these benefits combined to result in the entire 214 apartments being let within just six months, an outstanding achievement and a testimony to the demand of Build to Rent schemes.
